Several high-profile celebrities are expected to testify in the upcoming defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.

Actor James Franco, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Marvel WandaVision star Paul Bettany, as well as representatives from Disney, Warner Bros, and the Los Angeles Police Department, will testify in the now $ 100 million lawsuits.

The next court appearance is the latest in the divorced couple’s highly public legal battle, with both Depp and Heard claiming to be victims of domestic violence.

When Depp, 58, accused both Franko and Musk of having an affair with Heard, they were hauled into the case. Heard has Franco and Musk on her witness list. As part of Team Depp, Bettany, who had several private and unsettling text messages with Depp read in court in 2020, will testify.

Depp and Bettany discuss “burning” and “drowning” Heard to check whether she is a witch in some of the messages, which were read aloud during another trial in 2020. “Let’s drown her before we burn her!!!” Depp commented in one response to a question about his ex-wife. After that, “I’ll f—k her burnt corpse to make sure she’s dead.”

The text messages are among the 1,530 items on Heard’s display list. Depp’s exhibit schedule has yet to be finalized.

On March 24, a summary judgment motion will be filed in this court matter, which commenced in March 2019.

Depp initially launched a $ 50 million defamation lawsuit against Heard in late 2018 after reading an op-ed she wrote in the Washington Post on domestic abuse.

Heard attempted to have the action relocated to California and dismissed, but when she was unable to do so, she countersued Depp for $ 100 million.

Depp previously lost a lawsuit against the Sun in 2020, which called the Pirates of the Caribbean star a “wife-beater”.

After three weeks of hearings, the court determined that Depp had brutally attacked Heard during their tumultuous five-year relationship, placing her in dread of her life. In 2021, he filed an appeal, but it was denied.

Depp, too, has claimed he was a victim of domestic violence, alleging that Heard physically beat him and defecated in his bed, among many other things.

Text messages between Aquaman co-star Jason Momoa and Heard, and director James Wan, communication with Justice League’s Zack Synder, and email conversation between Depp and Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling are all on the evidence list for the upcoming trial.

Depp earlier withdrew from the fantastic Beasts film franchise upon their request, where he played the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald.

Both Depp and Heard are planning to testify in person at their next trial as of this writing.

Bettany, Franko, and Musk will participate in the trial via WebEx video links.
